Consult for Women and Land Rights (CWLR) is organizing a session on Women's Space in City Master Plan at ISF. The venue for the event is Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

This session will look into the problems of both urban and rural women belonging to all sections of the society in context of housing and livelihood. Through a project named Ajaala we are demanding a special zone for women in every ward .

The main agenda of the event :

Women in Urban areas : Presentation of Ajalaa the concept of creating protected zones for women's ownership of public land in city master plans.

Asking for a joint program of UNDP, UN habitat and Government of India as well as CWLR to be organised late next year to work out technical details of developing the Ajalaa concept in city devlopment plans. We hope that women's groups who may be willing to work on realising Ajalaa as a women-owned and managed zone that provides services such that workers efficiency in the city increases while respected their human rights.

Civil society support will be sought by the presenters to propose Ajalaa to Urban Development Ministry to plan on how a space for women owned public services, housing and economic activity can be reserved in city master plans.

Looking forward to your active participation,
