HIC Members activities on the occasion of World Habitat Day 2019
Within the framework of the World Habitat Day and Urban October, HIC members organize the following activities to remind and to ensure the human right to adequate housing and land for everyone:
 
Stop forced eviction of residents of Wxlacodji beach community in Cotonou
In the end of July, 2019, multiple visits by official delegations from the mayor's office, the prefecture, and the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development warned these communities of imminent eviction without any real details or meaningful information.
 
HIC-HLRN organizes workshop on gender and housing and land rights violations
HIC-HLRN has partnered with Shelter and Settlements Alternative : Uganda Human Settlements Network to organize the first of two workshops in Kampala, Uganda (10–12 April 2019) within HLRN’s “Women, Land and Housing Rights: Assessing the Impacts of Dispossession” project to build civil society capacity at strategic monitoring and documenting priority cases.

New report highlights the unrelenting crisis of forced evictions, finds over 200,000 persons evicted in India in 2018. Over 114 houses demolished every day, 23 people evicted every hour.

This annual report presents the work of HIC during 2017 in defense of human dignity, social justice, equity, diversity, solidarity and peace. HIC Members and Allies are actively involved in this task in all continents.
 
Al-Haq International Law Summer School
The summer school aims to assist post-graduates and professionals develop a coherent understanding of the legal and human rights situation in the OPT with an applicable approach. The summer school offers lectures by human rights professionals and group discussions on key human rights issues and trends in violations witnessed in the OPT.
