Slums: New Visions for an Enduring Global Phenomenon
A symposium being held at Harvard University from September 20-22, 2018 that will challenge participants to discuss the range of perceptions and systemic changes needed to re-imagine integrative urban and social landscapes, as well as the labor and land markets that most often underpin the formation of slums. Over three days, the symposium seeks to advance new policy, financial, design, and educational tools that can both improve existing slums and generate alternatives to future ones.
 
International Meeting for Equal Cities
In face of U20, social organizations, grassroots movements, civil society networks, academics and local authorities committed to equality, human rights and sustainability, we propose to show the other faces and the other voices of our cities. We want to address the root causes that generate impoverishment, exclusion and inequality and exchange experiences of resistance and transformative proposals from neighbourhoods and urban groups.
 
Rebuilding the Right to Habitat after the Mexico Earthquake: The HIC Initiative Selected by the Global Giving Foundation
HIC has been selected to participate at the Global Giving Foundation platform. The selected initiative works together with those affected by the 2017 earthquakes in Mexico in the reconstruction of their right to habitat, a work based on their knowledge and participation.

Under the title: "Housing at the heart of the New Urban Agenda", this gathering was be a regional space for exchange and discussion to share lessons learned, trends and challenges in the area of housing and urban habitat. The meeting was be held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, from 12 to 14 June 2018.
 
HIC and the Global Platform for the Right to the City at the High Level Political Forum
The High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) is the main United Nations platform on sustainable development and it has a central role in the follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the global level.
